Starlings, Our Noisy Neighbors

When Big Red and Ezra chose the nest they started using in 2013, they started sharing their luxury accommodations with some very talkative starlings! Learn more about starlings here. Their raucous and aggressive behavior have led to some calling them (not so) affectionately the "Starfia." In 2013, the hawk family took various swipes at the starlings, with only the youngest, D3, managing to snag one of them. The rather graphic video is here:

Early on in the nesting season of 2014 (during nest-building), there was already starling drama. On March 9, keysfishin posted the following tweet:
